THE POSE DOWN

BLOG DIARY OF THE BLACK PRINCE

DURING THE POSE DOWN, THERE IS NO FEELING ON STAGE THAT MATCHES THE MOMENT WHEN THE HEAD JUDGE CALLS YOUR # TO COME TO THE FRONT OF THE STAGE AND GO THROUGH THE 7 MANDATORY POSES:
  • FRONT DOUBLE BICEP POSE,
  • FRONT LAT SPREAD,
  • SIDE CHEST,
  • DOUBLE BICEP FROM THE REAR,
  • LAT SPREAD FROM THE REAR,
  • ABS + CALVES AND LEGS.

WHEN YOU MASTER THESE 7 POSES, YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF PLACING HIGHER IN COMPETITIONS, WINNING MORE SHOWS, GETTING MORE PHOTO SHOOTS REQUEST, AND CALL-DOWNS FOR COVER-SHOTS. DURING MY CAREER I’VE BEEN ABLE TO NOTCH OUT MANY WINS CAPTIVATING BOTH THE JUDGES AND THOSE IN ATTENDANCE BECAUSE I MASTERED THESE POSES.

POSING HELPS TO BRING OUT ALL THOSE LITTLE ITTY BITTY MUSCLES THAT GIVE YOUR PHYSIQUE THAT WINNING EDGE AND HEARING THE JUDGE CALL YOUR NAME AS THE WINNER.

I STILL GET CHILLS WHEN I LOOK AT PHOTOS OF ME BEING ANNOUNCED THE WINNER OF THE FIRST MASTER MR. OLYMPIA 1994.
PEACE , ROBBY

''3 VOICES''

"3-VOICES" CAME TO ME AFTER READING MY DAILY E-MAILS.

I'M FASCINATED WITH LISTENING. WE HAVE 2 EARS AND 1 TONGUE SO THAT WE WOULD LISTEN MORE AND TALK LESS. DAVID JAFFARAIN, RALPAL SINGH AND DR STAN MOREY SHARE THEIR WORDS OF WISDOM, WHICH SHOULD INSPIRE THOSE WHO READ THEM AND FIND THE WORDS EMPOWERING.

"APPRECIATION IS A WONDERFUL THING:
IT MAKES WHAT IS EXCELLENT IN OTHERS
BELONG TO US AS WELL"
RR

ROBBY --
-- Like you say, hard work pays off and you can alway improve. Before corresponding with you, I thought I pretty much reached my potential and lost some of the fire I once had. I'm grateful for finding your blog, ordering "BUILT" , getting on the RR Anabolic 7 Pack plan and doing the Master Class. I got my optimism back, believe I'm not even close to reaching my potential and feel like I did when I was 14 years old when I picked up a weight for the first time! You have not only helped we with the physical but the mental and emotional. I've read your TRM's, e-mail and blog entries many, many times. I've written down some of your entries that really motivate and inspire me and refer to them often. I've hammered many of them in my subconscious and they have become a part of me. I know I have become a better person in the process. You guys will always have my support.

I was curious if you have the Vince Gironda course called "Why do champion's muscles look different"? This is a great little book that talks about a lot of the mental aspect of bodybuilding such as visualization, concentration, tranquility, workout tempo...etc...I read it before going to the gym yesterday. Vince talked about many of the things you talk about. It is a great read. A great quote in this book as follows: "The subconscious believes any thought you perceive, and stores it. It accepts everything that is thought or spoken by you or another, if you accept it as truth. But it must be repeated again and again until the subconscious accepts it as fact. Then it will produce the condition pictured in your mind. This procedure is what I maintain is used by the champions, whether or not they are aware it. They are convinced of a successful outcome. This awareness is more important than any steroid drug, any diet plan or supplement, or any exercise routine ever conceived. I have observed bodybuilders who take steroids and receive no benefits. They take unimaginable amounts of supplements and constantly try new routines, but are not getting results, and never will until they discover that what I have written here is the true essence of bodybuilding. For years, I have been asked by my fans to write the secrets of the champions, and here you have it". I'm realizing more and more that the mind is incredibly powerful. This is another area of focus for me in 2010. Wish you both a great night.
David

Dear Robby, I can't express in words how much I "LOVE" your blog. you know you are a inspiration for young people like me to whom we look up to. the way you express about various things about life is phenomenal. ThanKs for sharing the info with us.

Robby,--
-- I was watching "Legends" again, and it verifies a very important point. Position is everything when it comes to an exercise. On my BEST bodybuilders, I would watch them perform exercises, and note how a muscle reacted. Sometimes just a small change of position was all it would take to make an exercise work. Another thing I noted was that people hated to do exercises that they felt they were weak at. That is the exercise they needed to do, that is why the muscle was weak in that area. People tend to want to show how strong they are at the expense of correct form. Weight is what made the wagon break.

TIME -WASTERS

SHADE'S OF BLACK.- ONCE YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN'T
ACHIEVE. THESE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN THE FIRST WEEK OF JAN 2010. YOU CAN ALWAYS IMPROVE. ''THE ARTIST''

DIARY OF THE BODYBUILDER
I GREW UP IN THE GOLDEN AGE OF BODYBUILDING WHERE THERE WAS NO SUCH MINDSET AS NOT TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL WITH INTENSITY AND MUSCLE BUILDING WORK LOADS, FROM WORKOUT TO WORKOUT. TODAY’S BODYBUILDERS DON’T EXCITE ME. NOTHING GETS UNDER MY SKIN MORE THAN A COMPLAINER WHEN IT COMES TO HARD WORK -ESPECIALLY IN THE FREE WEIGHT AREA . TO SEE SOMEONE NOT HAVE THE TOUGH MINDSET IT TAKES TO STAY A CHAMPION ANNOYS ME . I KEEP HEARING OF COMEBACKS BUT I’M SURE ITS ALL BLUFF. TALK IS CHEAP. THEY PUT THE TIME IN THE TRAINING AND POSING ROOM WORK BUT DROP IT WHEN IT COMES TO EATING AND TAKING SUPPLEMENTS ON TIME.
WHEN A CHAMPION CHASES THE GOLD, IT'S BETTER TO HAVE ALL YOUR PIECES IN PLACE OR YOU WILL FALL BY THE WAY SIDE JUST LIKE OTHERS BEFORE YOU. UNLESS COMMITMENT IS MADE, THERE ARE ONLY PROMISES AND HOPES, BUT NO PLAN. IT TAKES A LOT OF HARD WORK TO BECOME A CHAMPION. QUOTING DAVID JAFFARIAN WHOM CAME TO MY MASTER CLASS, “DOING THE WORK LOAD AND PERFORMING IT CORRECTLY IS ANOTHER BALL GAME -IT’S NOTHING LIKE YOU COULD IMAGINE.’’
YOU WILL FIND VERY FEW SO CALLED HARD WORKERS THAT HAVE THE WILL/MINDSET IT TAKES TO COME TO THE PLATE AND TAKE THE CHALLENGE AND MAKE THE COMMITMENT/DAY IN AND DAY OUT TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS. DAVID JAFFARIAN MEETS THAT STANDARD. MANY TRAINEES WANT THEIR CAKE AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP TOO. BUT YOU CAN’T HAVE BOTH. YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT IT TAKES TO OVERCOME THE LABEL OF A TIME-WASTER. TIME WASTERS, CARELESSLY SQUANDER THEIR TIME AND GROW SLOWER, THINNER, WEAKER BECAUSE OF THEIR LACK OF DRIVE AND FEELINGS. THE REAL CHAMPIONSHIP CHASER WANTS OTHERS TO FEEL ENTHUSIASM, COURAGE, OPTIMISM. ONE’S PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT SHOULD HELP OTHERS THINK MORE OF THEMSELVES. POWER IS INCREASED BY EMPOWERING OTHERS. COURAGE IS DOING WHAT YOU ARE AFRAID TO DO. THERE CAN BE NO COURAGE UNLESS YOU ARE SCARED.
PEACE , ROBBY

DR. STAN SPEAKS OF LIFE AND TRAINING

What Has “Cancer” Meant to Me

When I first was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, I was with my wife in the emergency room. When I first heard the words, it seemed like it had to be a joke, NOT ME, it must be wrong. Then I heard, NO CURE, wow, it cannot happen to me. I was embarrassed, because I felt they were telling me I was no longer a man, I was just another casualty of disease.
I was scared, I was terrified, I was afraid that my wife would leave me. Negativity was my mantra at that point.
My Dr. was an Iraqi named Dr. Al-Hassani, who has become a dear friend. He helped me to see this as another obstacle in my path to be conquered. Being a Bodybuilder with a desire to win and achieve, I approached Cancer by not acknowledging it. I was determined to win, and be HEALTHY.
My first treatment was with Thalidomide and Cortisone. I found out I had 9 fractured vertebra, a broken shoulder, and pinholes in the bone caused by the disease. I was facing an 80% infection rate. From this treatment I suffered from Pulmonary Embolisms, Diarrhea, and rashes. I was hospitalized three times, and lost 63 lbs. I really became suicidal.
It was then I was offered a revolutionary stem cell implant which offered me a chance to beat this disease. I was given only a 50% chance of surviving. I took this gamble, I had nothing to lose and my life to gain. I had this procedure done at Moffitt Cancer Center with Dr. Alsina at the helm. When I left the Hospital which you can see on the blog I could not walk, was very, very weak. I was told it would take up to a year to recover if it worked.
Enter my dear friend Robby Robinson. I had decided I wanted to live, be healthy, have sex etc. Something told me to contact Robby who I had not seen in over 30 years.
Why? I still do not know. We talked; I went on his Herbal treatment, Glutamine, and with his unbounding optimism, and my will to get better, and deny this disease. I am now walking, living, and happy. I exercise daily, and even though I am somewhat compromised in my ability, I have beat this disease going on 5 years. All of you can do the same through will-power, desire, and proper supplementation. Those of you that are working with Robby can see that whatever he espouses works, just believe and be positive.
Dr. Stan
