This entry was short and sweet. The accompanying photo is a powerful one. Much muscle and friendship was forged in Gold's, and clearly the muscle is still around. I hope the friendships are, too. Be Well Robby.

Rob - We appreciate you visiting the blog .hope this will answer all 3 comments. Spread the word. thanks for your support. We are glad you can appreciated the hard work of everyone at body & art and robbyrobinson.net. Being a big history buff I’m engulfed by the history of bb. We kind of grew up together, through the good and the bad. After a 27 yr. competitive career, it is still like a drug. I’m hooked until death departs me of this place. I still get that adrenalin rush walking into the gym, regardless what gym it is. ONCE ON THE FLOOR, I WANT TEAR THE COVERING OFF THE STEEL TO GET MY REPS AND WORK HARDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE FOR 45 -1 HR. -3-DAYS A WEEK. I’M A HUGE FAN OF THE LIGHT /HVY DAY SYSTEM. My mind and body loves the excitement and ATMOSPHERE. This my house I’M RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OUTCOME. The friendships were among warrior competitors not of solidarity. It was sold to look like a friendship. I was amazed at being able to live that lifestyle as if we were rich and famous - when it was so far from reality. The camaraderie was honestly embraced in the gym. It was magical and full of passion and dreamers. We were in our own world. RR.net will keep this time alive never to be forgotten.
peace, Robby

Robby,
The old Gold's gym was originally a porno theatre owned by Peter Blake (Baretta). I have fond memories of the old place. I am sure you remember the old place.

Wow. Thanks for the reply Robby. Poetically put, as well. I, too, am a history buff of the iron game and share your passion for this art, although, I am only 18. It's wonderful to learn that after all your time in the gym, you continue to love the work and get that adrenaline rush so unique to pushing the limits of the mind and body by way of reps and sets. I can only imagine what it must have been like to be at the center of the camaraderie that was so essential in the past. Thanks again for your reply. Train on, Brother in Iron.
