After working with you in the Masters Class, I learned to get my ego out of the way. I dropped the weight I was working with on my exercises by about 15%; but I put much more emphasis on good form, slow controlled reps all the while squeezing the muscle...putting my mind in the muscle I am working.

FJ-DR.G- THE BEGINNING OF A NEW PHYSIQUE TAKES PLACE. THINGS WILL CHANGE AS YOU ADAPT THE MUSCLES TO SOMETHING NEW. M.M GOT EVERYONE STARTED ON HIS HEAVY DUTY SYSTEM. DOING SLOW /CONTROLLED REPS. IT HAS IT'S IN BODYBUILDING HISTORY.

Robby the training routine is improving since speaking with you a few weeks ago. And I have been working on intensity with more reps compared to always wanting to push the heavy stuff. Also diet is going great as well.

Hi Robby,

Am a Hitter myself and have been for 17 years, its nice to see you bring up Mikes methods,but with all due respect sir, i don't use steroids and i am not a genetic freak. As a natural trainee that works long hours i don't have the time nor the energy to train more than twice a week. I tried a slightly higher volume/frequency approach in the past, however i become over-trained very quickly and actually lost muscle.
IMO, Mikes biggest contribution to exercise was a bio-logical fact, which is the bigger/stronger you become, the more time you need to recover. Ive certainly found this to be true.

I love what Dr. C. has learned from Robby, it is not the weight but the form. Most people judge their development by the weight they use. As a former gym owner the most common mistake made by people was too much weight, poor form. "Weight is what made the wagon break".

I have known all the great bodybuilders through the years. People like Sergio were genetic freaks, with great egos. When Arnold won the Olympia over Sergio he beat him because he was smarter, outworked him, and let Sergio's ego beat him. Robby, I have known of since 1972, yes he showed the promise of being great, but he also worked HARD. He still does, and it shows in his great physique. Robby, your advice to people is learned through your trial and error, listen to him/

Robby, that's beautifully put. At almost 60 myself, I can't slam the plates like I used to, but I don't NEED to. As you say, slower reps + more mind/muscle connection + greater contraction = more muscle.

JIM, VERY FEW CONCENTRATED ON THE REAL PRINCIPLES OF BBING. TODAYS BBERS SLAM AND DROP ARE THROW WEIGHT AROUND. I AM AMAZED SO MANY TRAIN THE SAME WAY. WRONG.
SLOW AND STEADY
WITH FOCUS ON CONTRACT AND THE NEGATIVE. THAT IS WHAT BODYBUILDING IS ALL ABOUT.

SIRLOIN-I ALWAYS HAVE USE THE NEGATIVE AS AWAY TO DEVELOP MORE MUSCLE FIBERS.THE NEGATIVE FOR SURE CREATES MORE MUSCLE DENSITY BUILD STRENGTH. MIKE HAD HUGE EFFECT ON HOW WE TRAIN A MUSCLE GROUP.
