DIARY OF THE BLACK PRINCE -

I HEAR SO MANY BODYBUILDERS TALKING ABOUT THEIR CARB INTAKE IS LOW SOME GUYS DON’T CONSUME ANY AT ALL BUT AT THE SAME TIME THEY ARE COMPLAINING
  • THEIR ENERGY IS LOW,
  • "I’M NOT GETTING A PUMP",
  • STRENGTH IS DOWN,
  • RECOVERY FROM THE PREVIOUS WORKOUT IS LEAVING THEM SORE ALL THE TIME...
YOU GOT BE TO KIDDING ME!

STOP READING ALL THESE
MISLEADING ARTICLES IN THE MAGS!

IF IT’S NOT IROMAN-MAGAZINE, YOU ARE GETTING THE WRONG INFORMATION ABOUT BUILDING MUSCLE. STRAIGHT-UP

EATING TOO FEW CARBO-HYDRATES CAN LEAVE YOUR MUSCLES FEELING AND LOOKING FLAT

MUSCLE FULLNESS DEPENDS, TO A LARGE EXTENT, ON THE GLYCOGEN STORES WITHIN THEM.

COMPLEX CARBOHYDRATES PROVIDE A "PROTEIN SPARING" EFFECT. CHECK IT OUT.

UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, PROTEIN PLAYS A VITAL ROLE IN THE MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, AND GROWTH OF BODY TISSUES.

WHEN CARBS ARE RESERVES OR REDUCED, THE BODY WILL CONVERT PROTEIN INTO GLUCOSE FOR ENERGY.

CARBS ARE VERY IMPORTANT

Robby - last spread back in '70s

-- BECAUSE IF YOUR BODY DOESN’T HAVE ENOUGH. IT HAS TO METABOLIZE MORE PROTEIN.

THE PRICE PAID IS A REDUCTION IN THE BODY’S STORES; IN OTHER WORDS --

MUSCLE DEPLETION -
NO MUSCLE GROWTH.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN, YOU HEAR OTHER COMPLAINS OF HOW MUCH WEIGHT THEY HAVE DROPPED SINCE GOING ON A LOW CARB DIET. POINT BLANK,
A LOT OF THE WEIGHT YOU DROP WHILE ON A LOW CARB DIET IS WATER WEIGHT

FOR EVERY GRAM OF CARBS THAT IS STORED IN MUSCLE TISSUE, AROUND THREE GRAMS OF WATER IS USUALLY ACCOMPANY IT.

WHEN DECREASING YOUR CARBS INTAKE, YOU NATURALLY DROP BODY WATER ALTHOUGH THIS MIGHT SOUND LIKE A GOOD IDEA.

WHEN YOU RESUME EATING CARBS, YOU WILL FIND THAT YOUR BODY REBOUNDS AND RETAINS EXCESS WATER,

THE WATER RETENTION WILL DISSIPATE AFTER SEVERAL DAYS, BUT IT CAN TORMENT YOUR MENTAL STATE.

YOU HAVE TO KEEP THIS IN MIND: IF YOUR CARB INTAKE IS TOO LOW ---

FORGET ABOUT BUILDING MUSCLES,
YOUR ENERGY WILL ALSO BE LOW.

AND ONE COMMON COMPLAINT FROM PEOPLE WHO FEEL OVER-TRAINED IS LESS ENERGY AND LOSS OF MUSCLE FULLNESS.

TO LIVE FULLY AND SUCCESSFULLY,
WE MUST COMMIT TO SOMETHING.

Like many people I have tried the low-carb diets. I just never felt right on them and my workouts would always suffer. More important, I think, is to get the right kind of carbs i.e. oats, brown rice, fruit, veggies etc. with an occasional cheat meal to keep your sanity.

Our bodies naturally produce a lot of the enzyme amylase, which metabolizes carbohydrates. here is something fascinating. Despite claims that carbs are not essential, and that there are only essential fatty and amino acids, it can be viewed just the opposite. Carbs are in fact SO essential that, if they are not provided by diet, proteins and fats are broken down and converted to carbs via a process called gluconeogenesis. This is catabolic, and taxes the liver. Why burden the liver when you don't have to?

Gluconeogenesis is a EMERGENCY mechanism that your body uses to prevent hypoglycemia. It raises cortisol levels because the body thinks it is starving, even if given a bunch of excess calories from just fat and protein. Why trick your body into a stressed out state when you can provide it with the nutrients it craves?

Additionally, the native islanders of Kitava, who eat nothing but sweet potatoes, yams, fruits, coconut, and fish and eat a diet of approx. 70% carbohydtate have zero obesity, diabetes, heart disease, or cancer. They also eat more calories than the average american. Obviously, our bodies thrive when given plenty of unrefined, clean burning carbs.

Thanks for the great, and much needed post RR. I recommend that everyone review the Kitava study. I am traveling there with a friend who grew up on the island in the next few weeks (his parents and family still live there year round). For that time, it will be nothing but sweet potatoes, fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, and coconut for me. Can't wait.

TO ALL THE COMMENTS DR-C-WITHOUT THE RIGHT BALANCE OF COMPLEX AND SIMPLE CARBOHYDRATES,FAT,PROTEIN AND WATER. YOU CAN'T ACHIEVE THE DEEP/SEPARATION AND FULL DEVELOPMENT IN EACH MUSCLE GROUP, WITHOUT THE ABOVE AND MY EFFORT FROM HRS OF WORKING ON THE 7 MANDATORY POSES, HOLDING EACH POSE FOR A 20 SECOND COUNT. THIS PHOTO WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE. THERE ARE MORE ASTONISHING NEVEUX PHOTOS TO COME. RR

Kettlebells have gained huge popularity over the years, since they came from Russia with love. As with most new techniques; people start to wonder about kettlebell vs dumbbells. Some people side with kettlebells and some side with dumbbells.this is very effective exercise for build muscles fast

NORMAN WITT , YOU BECOME WEAK, BAD ATTITUDE, YOU LOSE ALL YOUR MUSCLES, ON TOP OF THAT FORGET ABOUT BEING ABLE TO ACHIEVE A PUMP DURING YOU TRAINING SESSIONS. I AM NOT SURE WHO STARTED THAT LOW CARB CRAZINESS. I ONLY DO THAT FOR 3 DAYS. THE WEEK OFF THE SHOW.
