THERE IS NO LIMIT TO WHAT YOU CAN HAVE AND ACHIEVE IN YOUR LIFE
BEING A HUGE FAN OF BODYBUILDING, WHAT ROLE HAS BB PLAYED IN YOUR CAREER AS A CPA / CFP…..LIKE ARE YOU MORE HEALTHY AND STRONGER BECAUSE OF YOUR INVOLVEMENT WITH WEIGHT TRAINING?
Without bodybuilding, my life would not be the same, it’s that simple. It is my source.
One of my friends is a surfer, he says that if he doesn’t get a surf in every few days, he starts to become irritable and restless and basically isn’t the same person. The same applies with myself and my training.
There is absolutely no question that the discipline that I apply in my bodybuilding lifestyle carries over into success within my career / business.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEING WORKING OUT? HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU DECIDED TO GET INTO WEIGHT TRAINING? AND WHY? HAVE YOU EVER GIVEN COMPETITION ANY THOUGHT WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED WEIGHT TRAINING?
I have been working out since 1987. I was quite a scrawny guy at school and as a result got bullied quite a lot. I remember thinking at the time, you know what? I can do something about this.
I remember picking up my first muscle magazine at age 19 and saw a picture of yourself on the front cover. I always aspired to have a large, symmetrical physique like yourself. You can imagine then the thrill of finally meeting you at the Olympia Expo in 2007 and as a consequence being able to train with you at Gold’s Venice last year!
My competition has always been the battle within, being the best that Will Brooker can be. As for getting on stage…..I am only just starting to give it serious thought now, perhaps as an inspiration to people over the age of 40 to show anything is possible.

LADIES IN THE HOUSE - POSE DOWN AT GOLD'S |
WHAT DRIVES YOU TO GO IN THE GYM AFTER A HARD DAYS WORKING AT THE OFFICE? WOULD YOU ADVISE OTHER BUSINESSMAN TO START A WORKOUT PROGRAM TO HELP COMBAT JOB STRESS?
My training is normally done in the morning, setting the tone for the whole day. To me it’s the most important thing and as a result makes sense to make it my # 1 priority of the day.
I have no problems at all getting motivated to train, like I said before this is my source.
I have been blessed to find an activity that I love doing that keeps me healthy and disciplined which I will probably do until they put me in the box.
I can never understand why people under extreme pressure in the work environment don’t take time to exercise, they always say they are too busy. All I say to that is if you don’t take time to exercise now, then you better make time for plenty of sickness and ill health later in life.

WILL POSING ON THE GRAND CANYON STAGE. |
HOW MANY DAYS A WEEK DO YOU WORKOUT? HOW OFTEN DO YOU TAKE TIME OFF?
I workout every 2nd day, normally splitting up and training the whole body over an 8 day period.
As I get older, I find the additional day rest in between workouts allows me to recover and more importantly grow and get stronger, even at 41!
Normally I will train like this for 12 weeks followed by a week off. Any longer off than 1 week, I start to go crazy, just ask my wife !.
WHAT TRAINING SYSTEM DO YOU FOLLOW?
I have tried many routines over the years, without doubt the one you gave me is the best.
My workouts are short, sharp and dirty, no more than 1 hour. Extremely intense with a focus on quality form and technique. 2-3 exercises per bodypart, 3-4 sets per exercise, rep range between 6-12.
Like you have said many times before….. it’s all about quality not quantity. Coupled with your anabolic pack supplementation program, well to be honest…..I have never felt this good in my whole life.
DO YOU ATTEND BB COMPETITIONS IN AUSTRALIA DURING THE YEAR?
This may come as a shock…..I have never attended a bodybuilding competition in Australia. I have only ever been to 2 competitions, the 2007 and 2008 Mr. Olympias!!!
I have a goal next year of attending the Australian Grand Prix, Tony Doherty runs an excellent show and expo down in Melbourne.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON CURRENT PRO-BB COMPETITORS?
To be honest, I have nothing but the utmost respect for them. To put their bodies through sheer hell to get into the shape required for very little $$$$ shows their tremendous dedication, passion and love for the sport.
I am a very big fan of Phil Heath, I really believe that if he comes in with the same shape and size as last year with another 10+ pounds of muscle in the right places, he could well take this years Olympia crown. To top it off, he is a tremendous bloke, a really good ambassador for the sport.
I was a big fan of Jay Cutler’s physique but I personally think Jay’s time has come and gone, he seems to have lost his shape and symmetry.
I also love Kai Greene, what a tremendous story of triumph over incredible adversity. Someone who thinks right outside of the box, my kind of guy.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING AT YOUR PROFESSION AS A CPA/CFP?
Since 1988
HOW DID THE MADOFF PONZI SCHEME EFFECT YOUR MARKET DOWN UNDER AND YOUR CLIENTS WILLINGNESS TO INVEST?
The Australian market was, like every other market around the world, caught up in the recent economic downturn. However compared to other markets (especially the US) ours has been very resilient.
Our economy is in excellent shape and the vast majority of our large companies have strong management and are well managed (cash flows very strong and debt levels very low).
I run my practice like a private client service and as a result we are very, very selective on who we take on board as clients. So what occurred during that period was that every single client had a very specific game plan to continue to invest in the market to take advantage of perhaps the biggest bargain shopping environment that many of them will ever see in their lifetimes. They are now extremely well positioned to share in the economic recovery when it comes.
On a personal note…..I think the worst of it is now over and that we are potentially on the verge of the greatest economic boom the world has ever seen.
DOES YOUR FAMILY SUPPORT YOUR WORKING OUT? HAS IT INSPIRED THEM TO THINK ABOUT BEING FIT THEMSELVES?
Absolutely, all my family love the healthy lifestyle. I try to set a good example to show them what is possible as you age, that if you incorporate a healthy diet, a regular exercise program and a relatively stress free attitude into your overall lifestyle you can live a life that allows you to be all that you want to be.
