CHAD SCHAIVE - CLASS WINNER



THE DIFFERENCE 7 DAYS WILL MAKE -

IT’S ALWAYS EXCITING WHEN ONE OF YOUR STUDENTS ACHIEVES SUCCESS. 
ABOUT 8 WEEKS AGO CHAD SCHAIVE CONTACTED ME ABOUT COMING OUT TO LA AND TRAINING WITH THE PRINCE FOR A WEEK. PUSHING HIM THROUGH THOSE PRECISE, INTENSE WORKOUTS MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE AND TWEAKING HIS 7- MANDATORY POSES HELPED BRING OUT HIS HARD EARNED MUSCLE. 

CHAD WOULD HAVE A WHOLE NEW ATTITUDE. HIS MIND WAS SET TO LEARN AS MUCH AS HE COULD. IN THINKING SO, TO HIM IT WOULD MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE COME SHOW TIME. 

HE CAME PREPARED WITH AN AIR OF PROFESSIONALISM THAT ALWAYS MAKES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING. HIS PUNCTUALITY IN ALL HIS TRAINING / LIFESTYLE HABITS AND DETERMINATION WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE. HE WAS CONFIDENT AND PASSIONATE WITH A NOTHING I CAN’T DO MINDSET. REMINDED ME OF THE BLACK PRINCE, BACK IN THE DAY. FOR MYSELF, I SET MY BAR VERY HIGH. 

CHAD’S HARD WORK ETHICS AND STRATEGY IS WHAT EVERY YOUNG BODYBUILDER / ATHLETE MUST HAVE IF HE OR SHE DESIRES TO BE IN THE WINNERS CIRCLE. IT’S A PART OF BUILDING YOUR FOUNDATION. WITHOUT ONE YOU WON’T SUCCEED.

  2. AIMING FOR QUANTITY OVER QUALITY.
  3. OVER TRAINING.
  4. FATIGUE SEEKING - DON’T TRAIN UNTIL YOU ARE SORE
  5. EXCESSIVE FOCUS ON LOAD INSTEAD OF FORM.
  6. TOO MUCH FOCUS ON STRENGTH.
  7. INSUFFICIENT VARIETY WITH ROUTINES, EXERCISES AND QUALITY FOODS.
  8. LACK OF CONSISTENCY IN LIFESTYLE.
  9. POOR UNDERSTANDING OF THE BODY’S MECHANICS.
  10. TOO MANY CARDIO SESSIONS.

ROBBY, IT WAS GREAT TO MEET YOU AT THE BIG O IN VEGAS. I WAS AND STILL AM OUTSPOKEN BECAUSE I WANT SO MUCH FOR BODYBUILDERS ALL-OVER TO BE RESPECTED, ADMIRED AND BE GIVEN THEIR PAY DAY.

BACK IN THE OLD DAYS, WE WERE TREATED LIKE ROCK-STARS ON ONE MOMENT BUT NOT SURE HOW WE WOULD EAT THE NEXT. I STILL SEE BODYBUILDING BECOMING AN OLYMPIC SPORT. NOW THAT WOULD BE AN ACCOMPLISHMENT. 


I’M GLAD YOU ENJOY THE SITE. YOUR SUPPORT AND ENERGY ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. FOCUS - THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN’T DO. BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF. YOU PUT SOMETHING WONDERFUL IN THE WORLD, THAT WAS NOT THERE BEFORE.

HOW MUCH REST IS ENOUGH?


DURING YOUR SET, THE BEST REPS OCCUR TOWARD THE END WHEN YOUR MUSCLES ARE EXHAUSTED. THE PACE IS SLOW, THE MOVEMENT DELIBERATE AND YOU ARE USING ALL THE MUSCLE’S FIBERS.

PAIN IN THE GAME OF BODYBUILDING


BODYBUILDING NEEDS TO REMAKE ITSELF. THE POLICE-STATE MENTALITY THAT CONTROLS THE BUSINESS HAS TO CHANGE - CLEAN THE SLATE. 

AS AN OLD PRO I HEAR THE HORROR STORIES. SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG ON THAT PLATE. ONE YOUNG CONTESTANT THAT WAS A WINNER IN A RECENT SHOW HAD TO PAY HIS WAY TO THE NEXT EVENT WHICH WAS HIS FIRST PRO COMPETITION. NOW WHERE IS A YOUNG UP AND COMING GOING TO GET THAT KIND OF GREEN? 

AT THE 2007 BIG O IN VEGAS WHERE I WAS A PTA REPRESENTATIVE, EVERYONE WANTED TO TALK TO ME ABOUT THEIR PAINFUL EXPERIENCES. SO I LISTENED. I THOUGHT BY NOW THE ORGANIZATION THAT RUNS AMATEUR AND PRO BODYBUILDING WORLDWIDE WOULD BE DOING A MUCH BETTER JOB. 

WHY HAS BODYBUILDING NOT BECOME A PART OF THE OLYMPICS? 
MY DREAM AS A YOUNG COMPETITOR WAS TO REPRESENT MY COUNTRY IN THE SPORT I LOVE. I THOUGHT THAT WAS MY DESTINY - GOLD METAL AROUND MY NECK, BEAMING WITH PRIDE. IT IS ALSO THE DREAM OF OTHERS. I TOO WAS CHASING MY DREAMS OF MORE MONEY, FAME, BIG HOUSE. 

WE ARE ALL CHASING SOMETHING. BUT WHAT I’VE SEEN IN BODYBUILDING IS SO MANY END UP WITH NOTHING WHILE CHASING THEIR DREAM. I ENCOUNTERED A LOT OF RESENTMENT, FRUSTRATION, ABUSED MINDSETS ALL TRYING TO VENT THEIR PAIN. 

HOPEFULLY, OUR LEADERS ARE READING THIS BLOG.

SECRET TO PEAKING - ONE WEEK OUT


DURING MY CAREER, I’VE HEARD ALL KINDS OF STORIES WHEN IT COMES TO MISSING ONE'S PEAK. I TOO HAVE HAD MY SHARE OF FAILINGS, BUT HAVE ALWAYS LOOKED AT THE ROLE I PLAYED. TO NAME A FEW: MY GIRL WALKED OUT ON ME, I’M WORKING 2 JOBS TO MAKE ENDS MEET, COULDN’T GET MY FOOD IN ON TIME, MY GIRL DOESN’T UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE TO GO THROUGH, CAN’T FIND A SPONSOR, I’M TOO TIRED TO DO MY AEROBICS, DEPRESSED, DIDN’T GET ENOUGH SLEEP, I’M HOLDING WATER, I TOOK SOMEONE ELSE'S ADVICE AT THE LAST MINUTE AND TOOK A DIURETIC THE NIGHT BEFORE SHOW. I'VE EVEN SEEN OTHER COMPETITORS' BODIES FADE BEFORE MY EYES WHEN THEY HAVE SEEN OTHER COMPETITORS LOOKING BETTER THAN THEM.

IT’S VERY IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND HOW YOUR MIND AND BODY WORK TOGETHER. HAVING THE WRONG MINDSET CAN DESTROY ALL YOUR HARD WORK. 

BODYBUILDERS WHO DESIRE TO BE A SUCCESS IN THE GAME MUST BE ABLE TO ADAPT THEIR MINDSET. YOU HAVE TO START WITH A STRATEGIC PROGRAM OUTLINED TO THE DETAIL, THEN PRACTICE THE PARTS. THE REST COMES FROM HAVING THE MENTAL ABILITY TO BLOCK EVERYTHING ELSE OUT.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT GOES INTO YOUR MIND. AS YOU READ THIS LIST OF STUMBLINGS, IF ANY OF THESE HAVE SHOWN UP ON YOUR RADAR SCREEN DURING YOUR QUEST FOR GREATNESS, IT'S TIME TO MAKE SOME CHANGES.

WHEN WE FACE UP TO OUR OWN FAILINGS, WE GROW AS A HUMAN BEING. SELF GROWTH TAKES PLACE WHENEVER WE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY THAT A QUALITY EFFORT ON OUR BEHAVE HAS TO BE MADE TO SEE CRUCIAL CHANGES TAKE PLACE IN OUR LIVES AND PROFESSIONAL CAREER.
