MIKE AND I ALWAYS TRASH-TALKED TO EACH OTHER BACK IN THE DAY DURING THE GRAND PRIX TOURS. HE WOULD SAY SOMETHING AND I WOULD COME RIGHT BACK WITH A JAB OF MY OWN.

THIS BEHAVIOR KEPT US BOTH ON EDGE. HE WOULD WIN ONE, THEN I WOULD TAKE HIM DOWN 2-1.  SOMETIMES IN MY FLASH BACK MODE, I RE-LIVE THOSE BATTLES BETWEEN US...

MIKE WAS MY FAVORITE COMPETITOR.
WE BOTH ALWAYS WANTED TO BEAT THE OTHER.

IN HONOR OF AN IRON WARRIOR.

REST IN PEACE.

Seeing pictures of you and Mike bring back a lot of positive memories. That was a great rivalry back in the day- two icons going at it. As a kid, I loved seeing pictures of the both of you. In this pic, you clearly have Mike on conditioning. How do you get such tremendous serratus development?

DR-C THOSE WERE THE DAYS MUSCLE FOR MUSCLE. TWIST WITH A POLE 50 BEFORE MY WORKOUTS AND 50 AFTER. 4X10 SETS OF HANGING LEG RAISES THE RESULTS ARE STUNNING .

I loved Mike for his convictions. He was a driven competitor.

It is unfortunate his life was so short. I was saddened to hear about his passing.

I spoke to him about training in the early 1990's I remember our discussion like it was yesterday.

Good man.

Mike should have won, or at least placed above Arnold. I watched Rebuild on YouTube and was actually disgusted how it was possible he won in 1980. I realise it's a contentious issue, but Arnie wasn't ready and his body fat appeared well above others and his legs!
