DIARY OF THE BLACK PRINCE -

WE WERE ONCE TRAINING PARTNERS. THOSE WERE THE GOLDEN DAYS OF BODYBUILDING. "THE OAK" WAS THE KING. AS TIME HAS PASSED WE REALIZE WE ARE GROWING OLDER.

THERE IS SO MUCH WE CAN DO
TO RETAIN THE YOUTHFULNESS
OF OUR YESTERDAYS

MY WISH FOR MY FORMER TRAINING PARTNER, AFTER READING HIS RECENT ARTICLE IN NEWS-WEEK IS THAT HE MAKES AN ATTEMPT TO RETURN TO THE GYM AND NOT COMPLAIN OF THE BAD PHYSICAL SHAPE HE IS IN. IF THERE IS ANYBODY THAT CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR SITUATION IT IS THE GOVERNATOR

IF YOU WANT THE RAINBOW
YOU HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE RAIN

ARNOLD TOLD NEWSWEEK THAT HE FEELS GREAT ABOUT HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS, BUT HE'S UPSET ABOUT HIS LOOKS:
"I'M NOT COMPETING, I'M NOT RIPPING OFF MY SHIRT AND TRYING TO SELL MY BODY...WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND REALLY LOOK, I WONDER WHAT THE (BLEEP) HAPPENED HERE? JESUS CHRIST. WHAT A BEATING!"
* * *
"STRENGTH DOES NOT COME FROM WINNING. YOUR STRUGGLES DEVELOP YOUR STRENGTHS. WHEN YOU GO THROUGH HARDSHIPS AND DECIDE NOT TO SURRENDER, THAT IS STRENGTH. YOU GO BACK TO THE GYM AND YOU JUST DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL YOU GET IT RIGHT. "
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

With Arnold's genetics and know-how, he should be able to get into somewhat decent shape. Of course he is not the "Oak" anymore, but there is great wisdom in the prayer that states "accept the things you can not change and change the things you can." He just needs to make a committed decision to change the things he can (i.e. get in the gym). Robby is an prime example that age is not an excuse to stay in good shape.

I think Arnold is still in good shape, but next to Robby he looks like he's lost it.

Yet another inspiring post- "If you want the rainbow you have to put up with the rain."

Robby, you are simply amazing. It is people like you and Dara Torres (Olympic swimmer, very inspirational to me) that remind that physical fitness is not a sprint, but a marathon. I am in this sport for life, and you have set a great example of how and why this is the way it should be.

I'd say Robby is the REAL oak... solid, straight and true.

I'll second that one.

Robby you are in amazing shape. Arnold just needs to start over and face facts that he is in bad shape. I hope he can do it. He is and always will be the one of the best in the history of bodybuilding. Your dedication has kept you as one of the best -past/present period. I really love this site. Finally a true pro willing to share his training experiences. God bless.

Hey, RR. Is there any way you can give us a "sample meal plan" that will help us get in prime condition?
Breakfast is easy- eggs and toast/oatmeal.
lunch and dinner and snacks are the tough parts...

He just needs to get his ass into the gym and put his heart and soul into, no halfassed effort! A long journey starts with one step! He can do it, a little HGH wouldn't hurt.....

Maybe you could offer to go and give him a hand in getting back into shape. Who could make a better training partner than you - NOBODY!
